ROOMS WITH VIEW
Since 2006 I have photographed abundance of abandoned buildings in both the United States, Sweden, Germany, Sicily, which also resulted in a major exhibition in Malmö 2012 "The Souls Labyrinth".
Some time ago, as I reviewed old pictures, I realized that I had a lot of pictures on windows taken from within the rooms. The eyes of a house. Each window has its unique framing inside and outside. What appears through the window shifts through seasons and weather as well as growing and becoming more and more.
The interesting thing here is that what frames the window from the inside and the window itself eventually falls away because of the same elements that make everything grow out.
The picture is sad but beautiful and romantic in its process and at the same time gives a description of a long time when someone lived there to prevent and tame this power that both gives and takes. That someone has for many years and generations worked persistently to tamper with these opposing processes.
Rooms with view let you come in and out in an ongoing and passed time at the same time.
