DARIO PASSI

PIAZZA MANCINI

ROME 1981

From the Publisher

HOMES
The necessity for this series is to be found in the following consideration: that the discourse of the architectural project is today of an extreme solitude. This discourse is spoken, perhaps, by thousands of architects (who knows?), but warranted by no one; it is completely forsaken by any discourse on constructed space: ignored, disparaged or derided, severed not only from authority but also from the mechanisms of authority (universities, publishing, tenders). The design language of recent years has been dragged into the digression of the untimely and exiled from all forms of frequentation with the most qualified discourses on contemporary architecture. We feel there is no recourse but to become the site of an affirmation, to again assert the central importance of the project. That affirmation is, in short, the subject of this series of publications.
