Seddon House
A warehouse conversion for a young family. The house sits within and makes use of the existing fabric, with the introduction of robust yet playful materials.
The house was previously a furniture warehouse that had been converted into two townhouses, with poor thermal performance and planning. The clients were after a robust home to accommodate a growing family, as well as one that improved the general amenity of the existing dwelling and maximised opportunities for garden spaces. The design response focused on making use of the existing external fabric with an interior gutting and reconfiguration. The only adjustment to the external volume was raising the top gable to accommodate more head-height to the top floor main bedroom.
