PARASOL TREE HOUSE
The Parasol Tree House has its roots in the geographical and historical context of Rome and the gardens of the Villa Medici, through a reflection on the cycle of life and the levels of the landscape. The installation is part of a dynamic of plural accompaniment, at the service of the garden and its users.
With the creation of a prototype mechanical tree, the Parasol Tree House offers a reflection on the place of humans within natural cycles in a context of climate change. The use of an artificial canopy offers shaded spaces, allowing the public to inhabit the trunk of the device. During heavy summer rainfall,
its funnel construction also collects rainwater to gradually redistribute it to its direct environment during drought periods.
