Sivasdescalzo Headquarters
Founded with the intention of expanding the knowledge of sneaker culture in Spain, sivasdescalzo (SVD), has been the protagonist of a long and productive pathway in the sector since its creation in 2011, when it already stood out by positioning itself as a national reference for its unique vision and an elegantly curated offer of limited editions of streetwear fashion and premium sneakers.
Since the opening of its flagship stores, SVD has taken a remarkable interest in pouring into its spaces the principles that define the brand, analyzing the synergies that make up the singularity of its project. Thus, the retailer has studied the fundamentals that make up the DNA of the company, revealing environments that highlight the aesthetic contrast of technology versus tradition in a harmonious contrast of craftsmanship and elements traditionally used in facades and exteriors of buildings.
SVD recognizes the importance of providing a unique, contemporary and memorable shopping experience in a space that is both efficient and warm. With these very same concepts in mind, coinciding with the company’s 10th anniversary, the Spanish retailer has worked on the construction of a new office space where the company will base its headquarters. Located in Barcelona's Ronda Litoral, this new location has distilled the industrial profile of the area, juxtaposing it with SVD's technological character - so ingrained in the team and its very essence - and the rest of the elements that shape its appearance. Cold and architectural materials brought from neighboring warehouses are reutilized in an interior where, combined with handcrafted and irregular finishings, they manage to elevate the space. An interesting analogy of the work that SVD does, bringing streetwear closer to high-fashion through a meticulous work of product and content editing.
This ambitious project, developed in collaboration with A.P.O - interior design studio with which the retailer has worked with for the design of its retail spaces, former offices and shop windows - also combines marble, stainless steel, U-Glass dividers, concrete blocks and ceramic tile columns to create a clean, functional and balanced environment that highlights the importance that the studio gives to the application of two key principles integrated in SVD's identity: modernity and sophistication.
A.P.O. has configured spaces with an industrial character that allow for fluid circulation in the office, which has become an open-plan yet private, cheerful and luminous place. This feeling is evoked from the marble reception area, connected to the entrance by a corridor with a brushed stainless steel finishing that connects the two worlds of the company: online and human.
The work area, with an open office layout, incorporates modules that provide the necessary privacy to create rooms designed for quick meetings. The furniture also plays an important role in the project.
The area encompassing the offices, with custom-made aluminum tables reminiscent of the counters used in SVD stores, becomes a multipurpose area that ensures a pleasant environment away from the conventionality of the office. An exit to the patio connects the workspace with an escape to the outdoors, allowing the team to take in fresh air in an open- space terrace that is dominated by a large iron-beamed pergola. The meticulous care given to the choice of materials and their correct application throughout the configuration of the space is a reflection of the attention that SVD and A.P.O. pay to the comfort of their human capital, which represents a fundamental value for the company.
The building that houses the new headquarters of the Spanish retailer manages to combine both the physical and digital needs of the team, thus unifying all the elements that are key in developing for the proper day-to-day functioning of the company.
