The Matignon
Louis Denavaut received a commission in 2020 for the interior design of offices on Avenue Matignon in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. He had carte blanche for the project, with just a single specification: to combine cutting-edge technology with contemporary aesthetics. To redesign the 4,000 sqm, Louis Denavaut asked former classmates from the École Camondo, Hauvette & Madani, to join in.
The offices, situated in a modern building featuring large glass windows, lacked charm and personality. To offset the somewhat sterile setting, Louis Denavaut and Hauvette & Madani transformed the space by lining the inner walls with a double layer of warm wood to contrast with the smooth stone, and by controlling the luminosity, dividing the area using elegant linen curtains to enhance intimacy and comfort.
The color palette is based on a range of beiges, which immediately creates a soothing, warm light for a more comfortable work environment.
Nearly all the furniture—from the counter to the sofas, along with the lamps and adjustable desks—was custom-designed by Louis Denavaut and Hauvette & Madani, in collaboration with LA MANUFACTURE.
The result is welcoming, elegant and functional space.
