DIGITAL ENTITY WORKSPACE TOP FLOOR
The workplace typology will depend less on the program or status and increasingly on operative necessities. Thus meaning the introduction of the temporal dimension within the design process, since people already tend to use different places depending on the tasks, time and seasons.
In light of the new possibilities to complete tasks remotely, the office space must be seen increasingly as an opportunity for relations and sharing, with the consequent revaluation of the informal or in-between spaces (like waiting rooms and rest areas).
The Digital Entity project is an attempt to give shape and matter to these concepts.
We replaced the concept of “flexible spaces” (divisible open spaces typically) with a sum of “high identity” sub-spaces extremely varied in size, type and privacy levels. Therefore preconfigured spaces designed in detail in which geometries, materials, lights, and furniture regain a key role. Instead, the necessary conditions of flexibility are granted by reconfigurable furnishings capable of transforming and adapting according to needs, among which emerges the OTTO table, with its various compositions and finishing possibilities.
A “new working environment” takes place in which employees can experience a freedom of expression similar to that promised in the services they offer to the clients.
Lounge areas with carpets, table, sofas and armchairs, areas for informal meetings with a high table and a kitchen, cubical for work groups, phone booths, personal lockers, velvet curtains and textured fabrics, metal frames as filters from open spaces with collective and individual work stations and writable walls which become work tools, are in detail the spaces and devices that populate this new landscape. Artificial lighting duplicates natural light, both in its origin and temperature.
