Lviv rooftop apartment
A spacious apartment in Lviv filled with white color and wooden textures, designed by the local architecture studio "sulykarchitects". The brief was to create a comfortable and light living space.
White painted walls starting on 70cm height from the floor expand to the ceiling and accent existing roof geometry. Wooden textures are used to bring more warmth. They also point the entrances to the apartment and to the sleeping area.
An 80sq.m. space under the roof of a small city building, 3 km away from the old city center. Designed for a young couple.
Walls and high ceiling all over the place emphasizing the roof geometry are painted white. Grand open volume creates more light and fresh air. Wooden floor sets a continuous horizontal level through the apartment. The entrance door is hidden in a wooden wall panels together with bookshelves. Panels are shaped in horizontal rectangle contrasting a complex volume. Living room and a kitchen are separated by the low white block with guest bathroom inside. Above the bathroom there's a place for storage. Living room is left as clear as possible with a big white sofa and a fireplace.
Master bedroom with a wardrobe and a bathroom are hidden behind the wooden doors in the living room. As the volume is more narrow here, a private area gets more vertical surfaces on display.
