Offices, Conferences Rooms, Refurbishment, conservation intervention and extension of restricted estate complex Residence Palace
The Residence Palace is an Art Déco wonderful example built between 1922-27by the Architect Michael Polak. In 2004 the original facades and the entrances and the central ground floor hallway entered under monumental protection. The innovative project increases the historic part of Residence Palace. Two new glass walls convert the original building into a cube. A space with a lantern shape and with oval slabs of different dimensions was created in the box. The finishings are decorated by the Belgian artist Georges Meurant with colorized squares combination of different dimensions. The new faces along rue de la Loi, the main street of European district of Bruxelles, are made up of a double facade. The transparency reveals the added lantern volume as symbolic heart of building.
