28 Housings in Ilot Delessert
The site is located in an urban fabric that is characterized by a predominance of social housings buildings. The project is part of the urban renewal of the district DELESSERT.
URBANITY, REGENERATION
The idea is to offer for each apartment a high spatial quality and an architecture open to the outside. The two volumes have been shaped to allow an ideal position of each apartment for thre sunshine and to limit the vis-à-vis. The U-shaped geometry creates widen and narrow branches.
Continous balcony and vertical gardence extend the living interior spaces, in order to offer each apartment at least one outdoor space. The volumes are graduated, to step back from the linear existing building in front of the projet.
The volumes fragmented into two blocks provides crossings and generates a physical passage between the avenue and the bottom of the site. It marks a visual transparency punctuated by a small urban plot.
HOUSING AND OUTDOOR SPACES
Each apartment is therefore open to the exterior, and is oriented to offer several views. Indeed, each apartment has a double or even triple orientation. The balconies are separated from the facade veils and are held by brackets arranged in line with the sails. Plants ensures greater privacy from inside the apartment. The balconies are planted with lowtech system of simple vegetalized facade maintenance which make the joy of the residents, climbing plants grow along a stainless steel vine in trays embedded in the thickness of the slab.
The gardens open to the south and offer the quality of life of a ground floor accommodation. The exterior extensions have the advantage of being accessible from all the rooms and allow to walk around the apartment. The facade is an element that can be appropriated by the residents, which offers comfort close to a house.
In order to provide access to all the apartment, the two buildings are organized around two vertical circulations. The geometry of the building allows the natural light to enter these service areas.
This simple and ambitious social housing project is appreciated by its residents but also by the neighbourhood.
