The project fits into the urban renewal plan designed by ANMA office, near the old submarine base of Bordeaux, France.
The building, located at the crossing of a street and a pedestrian path, takes the role of an articulation. At this corner, the volume seems to be eroding, allowing the installation of several terraces for the apartments.
The project was influenced by the compactness and robustness of the submarine base. The stained concrete facades echoes to an industrial architecture. As a shell, the materiality plays with the effect of an excavated mass, in which the geometric shapes of the windows and balconies are all delimited by wooden frames.
