KURUL BOVEDILLA SERIES #02
KURUL refers in its etymology to the Latin word "curulis", meaning the square seat "seals curilis" without back or arms support, which would have been used since the Roman monarchy as a symbol of royal power. A place from which to make important decisions with elegance and style.
KURUL is a furniture system based on modular metal supports and standard-sized ceramic curved vaults strongly painted with customized hypergraphics patterns.
KURUL is the second prototype of BOVEDILLA SERIES research, initiated by ENORME Studio and aimed to promote the use of industrialized ceramic pieces applied to furniture. KURUL first prototypes have been fabricated for the PRODUCTO FRESCO 2017 design exhibition at DIMAD, the center of design from Matadero Madrid.
BOVEDILLA SERIES commits to the use of local materials and handcrafted work. Ceramic pieces used to produce the furniture are part of the stock owned by Grupo Díaz Redondo entreprise dedicated to the production of industrialized ceramics. Metal parts are fabricated at metalwork workshop CRRSA, both located a few kilometres away from Madrid.
