Charred House
Built in the middle of a pine forest in Brandenburg, near Berlin, this weekend house is also the studio for a photographer and one musician. The house is built out of timber, the facade is made of torched lumber. The area is regulated by planning laws of limited building size and height. The mid section of the house contains a domestic compact core built on two levels with all the functional needs with deep set alcoves, kitchen, toilet and shower on the upper floor, plus one sound-insulated room for a synthesizer, leaving the rest of the house to be used as a studio for video work and photography.
