We met Ladon when she was looking for a second home in the city of Barcelona. Because of family matters she was emotionally attached to the city, and now was the moment to have her own place for her and her family.
A place to share, enjoy holidays and the city.
We found the perfect place and now their new little summer home, became reality.
LoCa Studio renovates a patio house in the Barcelona Montjuïc’s district.
The purpose of this project was to maximize the space for a family so they could enjoy their home adapted to their temporary life in the City. Their childhood summer home.
The property of 60m2 + 30m2 patio had a very divided interior layout. The design aimed to connect interior and exterior to create a flexible, light and open space, around the patio and its existing tree.
The original existing walls were displayed and the challenge was to work with wooden dry construction, complementing and balancing the rough brick and stone of the original walls.
Translucent glass and the change of heights in the core rooms, allow indirect light in, creating a pleasant luminance.
Living spaces were placed to the patio façade to enjoy the luxury of having an open space in one of the original districts of Barcelona.
