“El Curry Verde” is a vegetarian& vegan restaurant located in Hondarribia, Spain. Their international cuisine and selection of tasty dishes, organic wines and craft beers enabled them to make a name in the area and as a result their previous venue started to be overcrowded frequently.
They decided to move to a larger restaurant in the village´s port: The design challenge was to create a hospitality interior that felt amiable, fresh but not “too girly”, cozy enough for late intimate nights but with an openness that would let them organize cooking workshops as well.
The 115 m2 of the public area were divided into two areas: the bar, more informal with high tables, and the dining area. The renovation consisted on a complete change of appearance from the previous restaurant, building large tiled bar and designing tailored furniture.
The palette of materials and colors were to be the predominant white color with hints of yellow, turquoise, wood, colorful lamps and plants: the result was warmth but bright space even during the dark winter days.
