Primary School - Lasa
The scale with respect to the place and the built environment were the determining parameters for the development of the architectural concept. At first sight, the building structure of the primary school appears to be arbitrary in the village structure. Only on closer inspection, in conjunction with the new kindergarten, the urbanistic topographical references become recognizable and comprehensible. The adjustment of the primary school was set so that one does not look from the classrooms head-on at the neighbouring house fronts, but over and over again view axes arise in the surrounding scenery.
At the internal organization of the rooms, it was important for us to make openness and transparency visible and tangible in a transcendent sense. In this way, the limited space program was widened by creating spatial connections through airspaces and galleries to promote the perception of the children and to help them to orient themselves in the house, to discover it and to be surprised.
