A Voz do Mar by Pancho Guedes
Chamber of sound on top of the geological fault, turned on by the tide.
A temporary installation was proposed and built it with circular walls around the place where a little fault exists in the rock of the promontory. This fault is located at 700 m from the fortress and at 100 m from the cliff. It is a natural fault which diameter rounds half a meter and it was partially covered by wreckages from other constructions and pieces of tiles assembled by cement and sand. The pressure of the movement of the sea pushes the air and the steam that came up caused by the movement of the waves attracting tourists to the location.
It was intended to clean the site from the trash and to cover the fault with a platform that ensures the passage of the air and at the same time it prevents the visitor come-down. The pallet must be metallic with 2,50 m diameter designed in iron as an industrial floor or a perforated plate that allows the visual and sensorial perception of the air movement caused by the waves.
Around this place a 4 meters high circular wall was proposed. Two meters far away from this, there is another wall following the circular direction but it has a half meter less than the first. More walls were added towards the periphery, four walls spaced 2,5 m from each other reaching 2 meters high.

The circular walls were relied on concrete foundations outside the ground. They were landed on the floor as a kind of lintels in order to stabilize the supporting structure of the walls. The casing was made by plastic sheets, a flexible material that allows to adapt itself to the topography and supported by the cement bricks. When the concrete gained setting and solidify, the bricks that were used to do de casing were replaced and reused to build the wall.
The execution material is the FPF curved cement brick which dimensions are 43x20x15 cm. The walls show the cement bricks texture and the central ring must be plastered and whitewashed in a traditional mixture of lime and iron oxide, seeking to bring the earth tones to the intervention.

The local flora is not interfered by the solution and the site is not invaded by building materials according to the Parque Natural de Sagres e S. Vicente requirements. The pavements of the paths in between the walls have a permeable nature in order to avoid to harm the promontory floor.
The entrance is oriented to the south.
