New Pizzolante HQ
The project proposes an open layout coupled with intimate, small-scale work and meeting areas as a means to reorganize the client's company into a horizontal, open and collaborative structure.
The project transforms the client's need for a new office space to an opportunity to reorganize itself and its work culture. The staff, made up mainly of young professionals working in-house as well as outside the office, has a preference for mobility, horizontality and open space over a hierarchical structure, the enclosed cubicle and the fixed work station.
New forms of collaborative work were the key concepts in the organization of the main office, a 10X15 meter rectangle in which most of the personnel is located. We proposed an open space that promotes exchange, colaboration and open communication amongst all team members. In contrast with an open plan layout, we designed various meeting and work areas with different levels of privacy within the main space. These hubs, niches and common spaces, all techologically equipped, allow for individual as well as group work, informal gatherings and more formal client meetings.
The smaller, east wing of the office contains a small kitchen and eating areas, management, administration and other elements of the program that require privacy or isolation, as well as a large room for client meetings. These spaces are organized along a central hallway, internally modulated based on the existing glass facade.
