Transformation Farmhouse Adliswil
The farmhouse which was built in the 16th century is split into two separate spaces, a living area and an adjoining barn. An inserted wooden floor spans along the upper level of the barn, providing a new geometric element, without significantly impacting the generous volume of the original barn.
When entering the building, you are guided along a path that continuously changes dimensions, creating functional spaces such as a cloakroom, a library and a work area. In the loft, the inserted floor and the roof frame create a prismatic structure with huge windows into the outside world on either side.
You first enter a spacious living area from where a few steps lead up to a dining and kitchen area. A hatch in the lower level of the loft connects back down to the barn completing the circuit within the building.
