Casa Calafquén
It's a vacation home that is on a steep in front of Calafquen lake, with a very present and vertical territorial environment.
We project a compact and mediator element between the distant landscape and the nearby landscape.
The cover, designed as the expressive possibility of the house, rescues an archetype associated with vernacular imagery of this territory.
This acts as a fifth facade, the facade access. The access is located on the high part of the steep.
On the cover we projected windows that provide vertical light inside the house, creating an artificial sky and more luminous quality.
These cover windows are the mediators of public and private spaces, between the two levels.
The private area, located in the -1 floor, is the place that connects the house with the forest.
The windows privatized the inside. They have a level of intimacy and shelter, forming an act of permanence and distance from the outside world.
