Develop the Fisherman’s Beach, Lima’s Coastline
project awarded with the 3rd place
Competition
The competition looks for proposals to recover and develop the Fisherman’s Beach in Lima’s coastline. The project is located in an area of 20,000m2 in Chorrillos and aims to benefit the local fishermen by improving the market and pier, recuperating the beach and constructing new infrastructure that would create a dining experience for the general public.
Proposal
The project is a shadow.
Beneath this shadow exists a plaza where the actors of the place converge and are in the landscape.
Surrounding this shade one experiences the realm of artisanal fishing processes.
Architecture in this context must endure over time and make use of low maintenance materials, in favour of economics and responsibility towards the city.
