Dynamic Sanctuary
Dynamic Sanctuary is a traveling pavilion designed for Ford Motors that links visitors biorhythms to the environment they inhabit.
First appearing at Sight Unseen's OFFSITE show during NYCxDESIGN 2015, The Principals designed a new type of architectural space that de-contextualizes users from their standard environment, connecting the subjective architecture of our bodies with the objective architecture of the built environment.
As visitors approach the installation they see a curving pathway leading to the interior of an infinity a column, creating a perceptive shift that fosters a heightened awareness. At the center is a mirrored podium with a pulse sensor. You place your index finger in the pulse sensor, and the walls begin pulsing with your heartbeat, your biorhythms are encoded in the architecture you inhabit.
After appearing at NYCxDESIGN the pavilion travelled to Dearborn, Michigan where it was installed in the lobby of Ford World Headquarters.
