Technological Halls for the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Métiers-ParisTech
The recently completed phase is the cornerstone of an ambitious renovation program that aims to give the school a new face and allow it to stand out as an "engineering school of the future". Resolutely turned towards tomorrow's world, it is at the forefront of technological development. The program concerns the area exclusively used for research and experimentation within the school and involves the rehabilitation of the three halls on the site to the rear of the school.
Anticipating changes - or at least making them possible.
For ENSAM, the intention was to give its research hub a new lease of life and focus it on mechanical and industrial engineering for new technologies. The renewed role needed to be spatially translated by creating a showcase able to help ENSAM attract sponsors. The aim was to confirm the readability of each laboratory.
To ensure a dynamic research hub, experimentation spaces need to be constantly renewed as most equipment and test benches have a limited life span of between two and eight years.
ENSAM wants to reaffirm its role as a school and, consequently, the educational project reflects a clear desire to combine education and research.
