Barranquitas South Municipal Kindergarden
Subsecretary of Architecture Projects
Primary Education Municipal System.
The Early Education Municipal System was created with the aim of ensuring equal opportunities for all children in the city, access to quality education under the idea that early education allows real opportunities for social inclusion and a better future development. The classrooms in the Municipal Kindergarden are designed for children 1-3 years old, thus addressing a need in Santa Fe since there are no public institutions responsive to this age range.
The Barranquitas South Kindergarden also includes classrooms for children 4 and 5 years old, from the introduction of the elementary school from the “Los Sin Techos” Movement into the program, an NGO that provided this social service on the site. The architectural proposal of the elementary school generates, along with the basic program units (classrooms for 1-5 year olds), new spaces for extracurricular activities, where observation, discovery, sharing and exchange with peers, create positive behaviors that promote the development of children.
Site.
Note that, in general, the location of these buildings in the urban grid meets development guidelines established by the Santa Fe City Urban Plan, which promotes the generation of centralities from strategic facilities, as a planning tool for urban transformations. The Barranquitas South neighborhood is within the Western Comprehensive Urban Program, launched in 2012, which establishes directives for all tools, actions and devices from different departments of the municipal government, for the overall improvement of a sector city.
In this sense, the elementary school is complemented by the layout of the street, precisely setting the western boundary of the urban grid; the deepening of reservoir lakes to absorb recurrent stormwater contingencies; construction of a police station by the Superior Government of the Province in Iturraspe and Peron streets; the transformation of the last stretch of highway into an urban avenue with new cross streets, signaling and landscaping; and the plan to regularize land ownership for the neighbors.
The works stand out for their constructive standard and quality of materials used, responding not only to the demanding conditions of use own public works, but also to the express intention of providing to neighborhoods that receive the gardens of buildings, through its quality construction, expressing the commitment to the care of children.
