High School in Paredes
The intervention in the Escola Secundária de Paredes is characterized by the integral reformulation of the Central Building, as well as the Pavilion of Gymnastics and the Old Workshops, and the maintenance, with some functional and constructive changes, of the three existing Pavilions, mainly composed of classrooms. The network of pathways enclosed by pavilions represents a unifying element, granting some coherence to the set of scattered buildings.
The main entrance remains, having, however, a new space for the Administrative Rule and a broad protection flap which allows better waiting conditions for the users.
It was created a new service entrance, to the north, for direct access of supply to the area of meals confection.
The intervention in the outer spaces attempted to recover the image of the school and how it is integrated in the surrounding, maintaining and recreating alignments of trees which extend throughout the perimeter, reinforcing the bush nature and creating accommodation areas and enjoyment of the space.
