HC House
The HC house is situated in Herdade da Aroeira, a preserved area, predominantly green, considered to be the biggest golf complex in the region of Lisbon, assuming itself as a tempting leisure and tourism centre, taking into account the extensive neighbouring beaches.
It’s a single-family house that develops over one unique floor. As functionality goes, the hall divides the interior into two areas: a private and a social one. The access to the social area is ample without any kind of separation from the hall, where one can find the living room and dinning room, visually divided by a plane. The living room communicates with the office that stands out volumetrically from the social area. The dinning room is connected to the kitchen, which in turn is adjacent to the exterior.
The circulation area is “U” shaped and provides access to the private area: bedrooms, suite and common bathroom.
The primary concept of the HC house was to provide high quality standards in the internal/external space, both in scenic terms, as well as architectonically and construction wise. Altogether, these factors should provide a maximum level of comfort and security, making the best use of the garden. Consequently a sober styled language is manifested in its architectonic image, marked mostly by orthogonal lines broken by large glass surfaces, emphasising in this way its relation with the exterior.
